Flood detector

A flood detector is a wireless, indoor sensor which gives an early warning of potential flooding in the home. This sensor is usually mounted on the skirting board close to a sink or bath and when it detects water on the floor it can either alert a carer or a 24-hour response sensor. These sensors can be obtained as part of a Leeds Telecare package or privately.

Watch this video and find out how a telecare alarm system can help you live safely and independently at home. Leeds Tele Care Service offer a range of tailored packages such as telecare alarm systems, 24-hour monitoring and emergency response.

Flood detector

The Flood Detector will alert when it detects water (i.e an overflow from a sink or a bath-tub)

Benefits

Helps to protect the user’s property and provides reassurance to care givers by connecting to a monitored contact centre.

The contact centre will follow an agreed plan and alert contacts so a carer or nominated person can be notified.

Needs to detect a significant amount of water to trigger an alert.

Things to consider

depending on the layout and size of your bathroom multiple units may be required.
