Information for waste carriers

The Leeds Accredited Waste Carrier Scheme helps Leeds residents find someone local, legal, and responsible to take away their waste.

Finding trusted, responsible and legal waste carriers can be difficult with social media being a busy marketplace for unregulated waste carriers who undercut responsible ones. Some of these rogue traders inevitably fly-tip, causing damage to the environment, and risking themselves and their customers being fined and or prosecuted. This scheme helps connect responsible waste carriers to the public.

Waste Carriers who join LAWCS will standout from the competition as a responsible Council accredited provider giving them access to more customers across Leeds.

  • your business being listed as part of the scheme, enabling customers to search and access your contact details when looking for responsible removal companies
  • access to environmental regulatory advice
  • receiving the "I'm Accredited" toolkit to stand out from the competition, including vehicle stickers, social media templates and a good practice waste transfer receipt
  • enhanced digital promotions through the Leeds Directory and Leeds City Council public campaigns
