Forces Pension Society

The Forces Pension Society is an independent, not-for-profit organisation that acts as a pension watchdog for the entire military community. As part of this Forces Pension Society offers a pension enquiry service which empowers members to make better informed decisions about their pensions.

Turn2us

Turn2Us is a national charity providing practical help to people who are struggling financially.  There is a section specifically for service and veteran Armed Forces which includes a benefits calculator and grant finder.

Op Sterling is a telephone based support and advice service for older LGBT+ veterans, delivered in partnership by Fighting with Price and Age UK. Their focus is on helping older LGBT+ veterans access financial support, from working out what support they may be eligible for to helping them get started on the claims process, as well as providing advice on housing options and social care.

Welfare Rights Unit

Leeds City Council's Welfare Rights Unit can:

  • give you free, confidential, impartial advice and support on a whole range of welfare benefits
  • help you to complete claim forms over the phone
  • forms we complete will be posted to you to sign, check and forward to the right department
  • offer guidance and support when making appeals
  • check your benefit entitlement and give guidance on using benefit systems

The Leeds Money Information Centre

Leeds MIC provides free, confidential and impartial help and advice on a range of money related matters such as debt, money, energy and utilities.  They can also provide one to one tailored support via digital, telephone and face to face appointments.
