Registration Information

We can only process applications from organisations providing services in Leeds and services are listed only at the discretion of the Leeds Directory..

You cannot save your application to register part way through so in order to complete your registration you will need to have on hand;

• An email address for us to contact you on
• Your organisations name and address
• Your contact information
• A description of your organisation

If you would like to upload your business logo to the Leeds Directory website please note that the website can only accept image files which are: 

• Format JPEG
• File Size 20KB or less

Organisations providing services in the home, garden or in the community on a 1:1 basis must register as a Green Tick Provider and will be asked to provide some supporting documentation. You can complete the registration and upload the relevant documents at a later date.

To register as a Green Tick Provider you will need to:

• Obtain and evidence a DBS disclosure certificate for the owner/manager of your organisation.
• Obtain and evidence DBS disclosure certificates for each member of staff who works directly with clients in the home, garden or in the community on a 1:1 basis. This information can be supplied on the 2+ Disclosure Disclaimer form 
• Provide evidence of public liability insurance including evidence of the policy expiry date and amount covered.
• Obtain a County Court Judgment Search against the England and Wales Order and Judgments Register
• Complete a Sub Contractors Disclaimer Form
• Supply business stationary complying with the Companies Act 2006
• Three references from Customer/Clients from the preceding 12 months
• Provide evidence of regulatory body registration where appropriate – for more information please refer to the Green Tick Criteria 
• Sign and return a copy of our Terms & Conditions

Your listing is the way you communicate with potential customers through the Leeds Directory so it is important that it reflects the service you provide and that it is up to date. When building or updating your listing it is important to;

• Prioritise your first 500 characters
• Use all the fields
• Keep your listing up to date
• Encourage customers to rate and review your service

Adults and Health People Development Programme

A range of free training courses are available for organisations delivering care and support services. Places are only given to staff who provide support to people in Leeds and are free of charge.

Age and Dementia Friendly Leeds

Leeds Directory has joined with Leeds Older Peoples Forum and Time to Shine and is working to promote Age and Dementia Friendly communities across the city of Leeds. We will now be including on our website information on all businesses and organisations who have committed to removing barriers to make themselves more accessible to older people and people living with dementia. Providers listed with the Leeds Directory will be able to display the relevant logos on their listing and website users will be able to customise their searches based on this criteria.

Come in and Rest

Leeds Directory is also working with Leeds Older Peoples Forum and Time to Shine to highlight the “Come in and Rest” scheme which enables older people to plan activities in the community. Businesses who join the scheme put a “come in and rest” sticker in their window to let people know that it is a welcoming place where older people can sit and rest for a few moments, without the obligation to buy anything or use the service.

Businesses and organisations can sign up to the Come in and Rest scheme only, or this can be part of their action plan when you sign up to become more Age and Dementia Friendly. This scheme is aimed at business with premises in the community.

Ideas that Change Lives

Ideas that Change Lives has been running for five years and aims to help people living in Leeds who have care and support needs to remain independent and improve their health and well-being. The programme is managed by Leeds Community Foundation on behalf of Leeds City Council and provides vital start-up funding and practical support to help turn inspirational ideas into pilot projects or wider programmes that benefit vulnerable people in our communities. All of the ideas need to have some source of income generation with aim of becoming self-financing.  There are two funding rounds per year, details of which can be found on the website below.
