Are you eligible for financial assistance?

The rules around who can receive financial assistance towards their care costs can seem complex and confusing.

To make this easy to understand you can use this quick and simple eligibility calculator.

All you have to do is answer a few short questions about the type of care you receive, your home situation and finances. It should take less than 5 minutes and you'll find out whether or not you are likely to be eligible for financial assistance.

The outcome of the eligibility calculator depends wholly on the information you put in. If you proceed to apply for Local Authority financial assistance you will be required to provide more information and evidence to support your application.

If your results show that you are not eligible for financial assistance then you will need to look at ways of self-funding your care.

Please follow this link to more information from Leeds City Council about Paying for your Social Care and Support.

Note - Local Authority financial assistance can only be applied for if there is an assessed care need from a Social Worker.

What happens to my information?

At this stage - nothing! Leeds City Council will not even know that you have used the calculator.

We are not asking for any information that could personally identify you. The calculator doesn't ask for your name, address or bank details.

The calculator is merely a guide to help you make decisions around care and support.
