About us

The Leeds Directory is an online source of information for services that can support you to live well in Leeds. You can find information on trade services, community care and support services and activities and events that are local to you. We aim to connect to you with checked and vetted trades and services that support people to live the life they want to live.

We offer the same Leeds Directory service over the telephone or by email via our helpline, you can get in touch with us on 0113 378 4610 to speak to one of the team who can provide information over the phone or send printed information by post.

The Leeds Directory provides information on over 1,500 local services, tradespeople and activities that may be able to assist and support you or a loved to live more independently.

We list a variety of services that can help maintain your home and garden such as gardening services, plumbers, and cleaners. We also list providers of equipment and technology that can help with daily tasks around the home such as cooking or getting dressed.

The directory includes information about your local community including events, social groups, or activities you or someone you care for might be interested in. We also have details of different housing options such as assisted living accommodation, home care services and care homes as well as information and services that can support keeping healthy and active.

The directory listings are categorised as below.

All organisations providing services around the home and garden, or that provide one to one support are checked and vetted for peace of mind. These providers are marked with our Green Tick and customers can share their experience of these providers using our Star Ratings and Reviews.

The Leeds Directory is a Leeds City Council service.

Any organisation that offers a service in the home or garden, or on a one to one basis in the community have been vetted and checked to our Green Tick standard for service users peace of mind. The Green Tick helps you to find reliable and trustworthy trades to do a great job for you.

To get a Green Tick an organisation must show that they;

  • Have DBS checks for staff working directly with customers
  • Have valid Public Liability Insurance relevant to the service they provide
  • Are they are a properly set up business with business stationary and comply with other relevant regulations
  • Are registered with relevant regulatory bodies relating to the service they provide such as the Care Quality Commission (CQC), General Optical Council (GOC), Health and Care Professionals Council (HCPC), Gas Safe and electrical regulatory bodies,

A Green Tick is not a recommendation by Leeds City Council and the council are not responsible for how the organisations listed on the Directory deliver a service.

Our star ratings and reviews allow users to share their customer experience of the services they have used and allows potential customers to read reviews that help decide which service is best for them. All ratings and reviews are checked before publishing to ensure that the review is authentic.

You can submit your review online via the Green Tick providers listing, by completing a paper based form and returning it to us by post or by getting in touch with Leeds Directory helpline on 0113 378 4610.
